However, being able to continue to read the files and use the SW that you already have is something you need to plan for, or at least consider, when you are changing to another environment. It is not that hard to drop thousands of dollars on RPG books over time. It could be cost effective, depending on how many books you buy. Alternately, dedicate a whole computer to just being able to read your RPG books. Buy a completely separate drive that you can boot from when you want to view the pdf files. Given that 120GB 7200RPM drives are under $100 (best I've seen was ($25.99 for new 160GB WD1600JB(retail) drives but that was in March and I have not looked recently), I don't see much of a problem. The machine that I am currently typing on can boot into any of w2k, win98, or Linux (multiple kernel versions).
